Tears of tomorrow

Can humans be better on Mars?

Eight loosely connected short stories offer the setting of a fictional alternative future. Distances are no longer an insurmountable limit, a trip to Mars with a metabolism slower doesn't take more than a summer holiday on a regular connection. Wealth and power lie in the accounts of an ever smaller group of the powerful, violence is the daily bread of the inhabitants of Earth, Moon and Mars. Is human life worth anything at all? What can genetics do, and will unstoppable technological progress ease our path, or will it drive humanity towards its own greed, lust for power, and the inevitable collapse of the world as we know it? Jiří Hons's short stories not only make you think, but also present the world of the near future in its raw and believable form.
