Surgical Propedeutics

As in other medical fields, the same occurs in surgery, mainly due to the development of instrumentation technology, electronization and robotization, but also the discovery of new drugs, to rapid change, which often radically change long-established procedures and in many cases fundamentally change the philosophy of approach to the surgical patient and his disease. Modern surgery adapts flexibly to these trends, but the basic surgical procedures, approaches and postulates remain unchanged, often for centuries.

First of all, access to electronic media offers today's medical student a wealth of information from a variety of sources, but this can also be a certain trap and handicap due to the unstructured and excessive information or, on the contrary, the superficiality and simplification of the data provided. The aim of the present publication was to unify the basic facts and information about the field of surgery, so that it would provide the student with the necessary information, but would not overwhelm him with information bias.

Propedeutics means „ Pre-education“, and so this textbook should open a window into the world of surgical disciplines for students so that in the following years of study they can build on the acquired knowledge and further deepen it. The textbook should correspond and complement each other with the knowledge that the student receives in practical exercises and lectures.

The book is intended for medical students, but young doctors will also find useful information in it.
