Superhero

Straight back to the over-technologised and thoroughly rotten Typhus!

The situation is escalating. The bio-engineered superhuman Theo, his know-it-all assistant, the metal centipede Bumblebee, and the foul Professor Rigel with his disgusting manners are forced to admit that they have taken the bait. Their freelance operations have been benefiting someone else all along. At the same time, the mysterious killer, Mr Miraculous, continues his rampage. But is the obscure phantom in a scout leader's uniform really who everyone thinks he is? Will it finally be revealed what he's up to and why he looks exactly like Kristián Mainer, the teacher who has been dead for ten years?

It's not just the main character who faces painful losses and a series of shocking discoveries in a society where ethics have long since fallen victim to scientific progress.

This is the sequel to René Vaněk's successful biopunk novel, Metal Sky, which was longlisted for the Magnesia Litera award for fantasy. Connect to the Bodyportal for a second time and enter a strange, decadent world where people enjoy subhuman meat patties for breakfast, giant genetically modified insects roam the streets, and the terrible machinery of the Underworld rumbles ceaselessly beneath the feet of pedestrians. We promise you a nerve-wracking ride with a climax you definitely won't be ready for.
