Stained Glass

There is perhaps no craft of which there is so inaccurate and little knowledge of the technique as the art of art glass, or the art of stained glass. In the general awareness and unfortunately also in the professional awareness the idea of leaded coloured windows persists, although the reality is quite different. The author has therefore treated the whole topic comprehensively, including a historical introduction in which he deals with the world and domestic development of stained glass, as well as the history of his own craft. A substantial part of the book is devoted to the technique of the field, including techniques of decorating flat glass, as well as the current issue of the protection and restoration of historical stained glass. The text of the book, especially in the technical part, is very instructive. It contains detailed technological procedures and instructions and in this form can serve not only professionals and those who want to pursue this field, but also all those interested in the art of stained glass.
