Špilberk in legends

The history of Špilberk dates back to the 13th century, and the legends surrounding this Brno landmark are therefore very varied. You will travel with them to the Přemyslid period, the time of the Swedish siege, the years of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and the period of the protectorate. You will descend to the bottom of a well or into dark casemates, where you will visit the starvation chamber, torture chamber, axe room and Josephine dungeons, and finally reveal the fates of famous Špilberk prisoners. Legend or reality? All of this is intertwined in the stories of one of the most important symbols of our history.
