Special psychotherapy
Emotions accompany human beings throughout their lives. They are involved in the formation of a person's personality and relationships. They are an important internal regulator of behaviour, i.e. they contribute to our active and passive adaptation. They have an indispensable and positive role in human life, but they can also cause or accompany health disorders and contribute to human suffering. Their alleviation and elimination by psychological intervention is one of the ways of coping with these emotions and can thus contribute to a more favourable development of a person's personality and to the improvement of his or her quality of life. A collective of renowned authors headed by prof. PhDr. Jan Vymětal have therefore decided to introduce the reader to the current psychological and psychotherapeutic views on anxiety and fear and to show how it is possible to influence them therapeutically in a psychological way. The book is primarily a teaching text intended for medical students and postgraduate students of psychotherapy, psychopathology and medical psychology.
