Sophie of Bavaria
When a king's heart overcomes political intrigue
When the young, widowed King Wenceslas IV learns that his advisor, Duke Frederick, is arriving for a diplomatic visit, he expects another rather dull but unavoidable duty. However, he has no idea that Frederick will be accompanied by his charming niece, Sophia. A brief meeting is all it takes for Wenceslas to decide to cancel his planned formal engagement to the Princess of Aragon. He realises that only with Sophia by his side can he face the momentous changes in the Holy Roman Empire, torn by political and religious strife. But will he succeed in winning the girl's favour?
