Social pathologies
The third edition of this successful publication has been expanded to include current social topics that have emerged from developments in recent years. This was necessitated by the growing interest of both experts and the general public in the issue of undesirable phenomena. The topics of socio-pathological phenomena related to family and aggression have been updated. New chapters have been added concerning new types of addiction (to social networks, technology) and the abuse of non-addictive substances (vitamins, steroids, hormones, laxatives). Attention is focused on the factors that trigger the development of these socio-pathological phenomena, especially their link to the family environment, and also on the possibilities for their resolution.
The publication will be beneficial for the study of socio-pathological phenomena for experts and specialists, as well as for students and other interested parties. It can also be used by professionals who are already involved in dealing with socially deviant and pathological phenomena in practice, and by specialists at research institutions. It is also intended for university students who are preparing for work in the so-called helping professions, i.e., future educators, social workers, therapists, etopedists, special education teachers, and students of teaching and healthcare fields. Given the public interest in the topics discussed, it will also serve other interested individuals from the wider public.
