Social care for the elderly

The book is aimed at students of social and health care and professional helping professionals and should help them to gain insight into the care of the elderly. The core of the book consists of a description of the target group and its characteristics in the spirit of a holistic approach to people, a description of the specifics of work and communication with this target group and a description and functioning of the social care system for the elderly population. The content of the book is based on Czech and Slovak realities, but it is also supplemented with foreign knowledge, which makes it correspond with the trends of the European social protection of citizens. The publication is supplemented by case studies that aptly illustrate the theoretical part.
