Skandar and the Chaos Competition
In the third instalment of this thrilling series, Skandar faces his most difficult test yet.
To survive their third year of training, Skandar and his friends must compete in a series of terrifying challenges across the Island's elemental zones. Friendships, alliances, and rider-unicorn bonds will be pushed to the limit – and only the strongest will survive. Meanwhile, Skandar's sister, Kenna, has finally arrived at the Eyrie, but her forged bond and wild unicorn leave her feeling isolated and ostracised. And when a terrible discovery puts the future of the Island in peril, all fingers begin to point to one person...
As suspicion mounts and dark forces gather, Skandar must decide where his loyalties lie. How far is he willing to go – for Kenna, and for the Eyrie?
Reviews:
Steadman appealingly tangles the main motifs and either keeps the reader in suspense or throws them into a whirlwind of action. You will rack your brains trying to interpret ambiguous prophecies, experience the heroes' small joys and great worries, train hard for the tournament and compete...
- Fantasy Planet on Skandar and the Phantom Rider
The Skandar series still plays primarily on the strong premise of killer unicorns – because, let's be honest, who wouldn't want to read something like that? The author develops an entertaining read full of various motifs, from the classic ones typical of children's literature to the more original.
- Pevnost on Skandar and the Phantom Rider
This book is incredibly thrilling from the very first lines. I loved the previous two books in the series and it just keeps getting better and better. Don't be put off, with this third instalment, Skandar confirms its status as a classic fantasy series and fully deserves it.
