Sitting in a wheelchair
The monograph provides readers with a comprehensive introduction to the issues of sitting in a wheelchair.
It connects two completely different fields – medicine and technology – so that the wheelchair user' s physical, psychological, work and social potential is maximized through adequate use of technology. The medical situation that leads to wheelchair mobility is usually medically multidisciplinary. The reader will learn how to clinically examine and evaluate the condition of a person sitting in a wheelchair, their balance, stability, support needs, and other parameters important when selecting and prescribing a new wheelchair or when checking the seating position in an existing wheelchair.
