Shards of silence

Audiobook Breaking Silence, by Linda Castillo, translated by Lenka Faltejsková. Read by Barbora Goldmannová, directed by Ondřej Černý. Kate Burkholder Series #3 The Slabaughs are a model Amish farming family. They are hard-working, have four children and get on famously with their extended family. The idyll comes to an end when one of their children calls for help. Kate Burkholder, the Painters Mill Chief of Police, discovers the boy's parents and uncle in the manure pit, all dead. At first, everything suggests it was a tragic accident, but during the autopsy, the coroner discovers that one of the victims had suffered a blow to the head before death. It's clear that it was murder. No one wants to find the killer more than Kate, who also grew up in an Amish family, so she takes the case rather personally… LINDA CASTILLO Linda Castillo is from Ohio, USA, which is where she sets her thrillers.
