Rewards and punishments in school practice
One of the most important activities of the teacher in the classroom is rewarding and punishing. These activities are not only related to discipline and maintaining classroom rules, but also to motivation, classroom climate and the students' attitude towards education in general. The teacher should use strategies that are beneficial and effective, not only in the short term. It is not only important to punish correctly, but also to create a classroom climate that prevents inappropriate behaviour. It is not enough to reward appropriately, but to motivate students through thoughtful reinforcement. A teacher must know the procedure for investigating a school theft, but more importantly, they must be able to assess and classify correctly. The theoretical text is supplemented by a number of illustrative case studies from school classrooms and practical recommendations and interesting food for thought are also provided for the reader.
