Reading and writing professional text in environmental sciences

This book serves as an introduction to the world of academic literature in environmental sciences and is primarily intended for university students at bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. The first part of the book is dedicated to the different types of academic publications – why they exist, their structure, and how we should approach reading them. In the second part, the authors provide practical advice for preparing and writing an academic text, whether it be a literature review or a scholarly article describing empirical research. The main body of the book is accompanied by separate boxes that explain certain aspects of scientific work and literature in more detail (e.g., statistics, creating and interpreting graphs and tables, citation rules, using citation managers, data management, etc.).
