Queen - Ruler and Mother
In April 1956, Queen Elizabeth celebrates her thirtieth birthday and is still getting used to her position as monarch. The political situation in the world is far from rosy. Prime Minister Anthony Eden is worried about events in the Suez Canal, and an armed conflict with Egypt is looming on the horizon. A scandal is also brewing within the family when Princess Margaret gets engaged to an unconventional photographer. What's more, reports are beginning to multiply in the press that Prince Philip seeks out female company all too often. The young queen, who is striving to balance her duties as a ruler and her role as a mother, is thus faced with a new trial in her life.
