Python
An expanded edition of the successful publication dedicated to the previous version of Python, which has been updated for the new version 3.11 and supplemented with explanations of some areas discussed in the companion guide Python – Data Libraries for Version 3.11.
The book presents the Python language in more depth than is generally customary (including features for which there is usually no room in other manuals). Users will therefore find the information they need even when they start to improve their initially simple programmes and need to familiarise themselves with advanced constructs. It does not shy away from topics such as a detailed explanation of decorators, descriptors, generators, or metaclasses. The rules of the object-oriented paradigm, a poor understanding of which can be the cause of many problems, are also explained in detail. At the same time, it continually points out the differences in the implementation of these paradigms in Python compared to other widely-used languages.
It is intended for anyone who has a basic knowledge of programming and is interested in working with Python. It is designed to serve as a language textbook at first, and later as a reference guide. The explanation is interspersed with examples that demonstrate all the constructs and features of the language being discussed. The examples are available for download from the Grada publishing house website. For absolute beginners, the textbook Starting to Program in Python is more suitable, which this guide loosely follows. Both books are the basis for the accompanying e-learning course.
