Patchwork inspiration by nature
Timeless and increasingly admired quilt patterns inspired by nature. A blanket like a starry sky, sea foam, sewn like butterfly wings and many more. The author works with free cutting technique and all patterns are accessible to less experienced and beginner quilters.
This book is about the inspiration that nature offers us – from snails to the universe.
It's up to each patchworker how to pass on this inspiration to the fabric. Often it is enough to use just a play of colours that leads to the creation of a quilt, sometimes a drawing of a leaf or an interesting animal.
Finding a pattern is only the first step. The next step is to convert the inspiring object into a surface pattern. The lines are therefore constructed in such a way that it is convenient to sew the chosen pattern. For example, free-cut curves can be used through two overlapping layers of fabric, the paspul technique or other forms of application.
