On the trip

The popular-educational book On a Trip is a captivating story about the discovery of psychedelic drugs, especially LSD. It describes how this substance was created at the renowned Swiss company Sandoz, and also recounts the company' s cooperation with Nazi scientists during World War II, as well as the life of the discoverer of this substance, a man named Albert Hofmann. This unique book also points out that after years of strict repression and bans, the time is finally coming when this substance can be used as a medicine, especially for neurodegenerative diseases.
The book is based on extensive research from the archives of the aforementioned Sandoz company and others, as well as an evaluation of correspondence between the main actors and other materials. It is written in a well-founded manner, but at the same time very readable. It is the first serious work on this topic to reach the Czech reader.
