On the trail of a traitor

The violent death of her parents in a small Parisian attic apartment never ceased to haunt Beryl Tavistock. Twenty years later, at a party of diplomats and former spies at her uncle' s English mansion, an old scandal unexpectedly resurfaces and surprising secrets surface. Secrets that cast a dark shadow over Bernard and Madeline Tavistock, former MI6 agents. But Beryl and her older brother Jordan refuse to believe that their parents might not be who they have believed them to be since childhood. And the only way to eradicate the ghosts of the past is to go to Paris to seek the truth and find out what really happened there twenty years ago.

Beryl begins to ask dangerous questions, which lead to dangerous answers, dangerous situations – and dangerous people. That' s why he needs help from someone who is familiar with the complex world of secret services. Her hope is former CIA agent Richard Wolf, who was also in Paris twenty years ago as a young man on the verge of a career, which is also why Beryl is not sure if she can trust him. However, in a world where trust is a double-edged sword, enemies become friends and friends become killers.
