On the edge of the canon

Twenty-one studies and essays on modern Czech literature were written from 1984 to the present day and have been published in journals and anthologies. They represent one of the author's areas of research interest, focused on authors standing on the fringes of the literary canon, often forgotten or underappreciated. In this sense, these are the first or early works of later recognized authors, which, while rejected by critics of the time, were a breakthrough into contemporary conditions and contributed to changing the literary norm. However, authors who created works that were valued in their time but which have been lost from the horizon of today's readers have also found themselves on the fringes of interest.
