Northern Day
The audiobook Severní den, author Ondřej Blaho, read by Jakub Saic, directed by Miloš Vrána.
PILLARS, PRECURSORS, AND ETERNAL RAIN. EXPERIENCE YOUR OWN NORTHERN DAY…
Two hundred years ago, people fled the Continent and settled on the inhospitable island of Nordtag, nicknamed the Northern Day. On the ruins of abandoned sculptures, they gradually built new cities, unaware of the still-functional mechanical constructs and their mysterious creators.
All that is about to change. Julius Birma, a prospector with debts and a complicated past, accepts a risky job to deliver an encrypted dispatch to an unknown client. Elsewhere, Hana Polach is fleeing the shackles of a golden cage imposed by her despotic husband. But to succeed, she must commit the worst possible crime. And Vicram Bagley, head of the criminal Syndicate, has made a deal that could bring about the downfall of all of Nordtag.
Amidst all this, an endless rain begins to fall from the sky, and with it come those whom no one has ever seen before. And most importantly – whom no one was ever meant to see.
ONDŘEJ BLAHO
Born in Prague in 1983, he has lived in Brno for the past several years. He wanted to study journalism but ended up at the faculty of law, which he did not complete even after six years of half-hearted effort. Today, he is the co-owner of a construction company, and for him, writing, along with photography, is the best form of relaxation. From a young age, he enjoyed escaping reality into the worlds depicted in fantasy and sci-fi books, and later developed a taste for existential and philosophical literature. To date, he has written about fifty short and long stories, but it was during the COVID-19 pandemic that he decided to fulfil his dream and wrote the novel Severní den. He is currently working on the second instalment of a planned trilogy and, in parallel, on two other books. Besides writing, he is also dedicated to photography (street photo, abstraction) and spends a lot of time scuba diving.
JAKUB SAIC

He has also appeared in many television fairy tales and productions. Currently, he focuses primarily on voice acting and radio work.
