Nocturne for Erik
A romantic story about two step-brothers set in the snowy mountains, which one of them loves and the other... will have to get used to.
Erik is one of the best snowboarders in the world. But he’s also a secretive boy who likes quiet and knitted jumpers. When his dad decides to move in with his new wife, it never occurs to Erik that anything might change for him. But then his step-brother, who is probably his complete opposite, bursts into his life!
Kasper prefers the hustle and bustle of the city, and silence terrifies him. Perhaps that's why he fell in love with music so much. If he's not playing the piano, he's always listening to something. Compared to Erik, he's a hurricane who dyes his hair, talks about practically anything, and, above all, expresses his emotions very loudly. Two boys in a big house in the middle of nowhere.
Two different worlds. What if they find much more in each other than they ever expected...?
What they wrote about the book:
He was just a boy who got under my skin. I loved his endless monologues, his listening to songs, and his zest for life. Kasper was always the one who wasn't afraid to be himself. Even if it meant someone wouldn't exactly like him.
- Klára Pospíšilová on writing the character of Kasper
Of course, for a while I was tempted to write an arrogant boy who is completely sure of himself and would confidently face Kasper's energy. But to write a boy who is a snowboarding star, who is successful and very handsome, and also extremely shy—that's even sexier, isn't it?
- Eva Pospíšilová on writing the character of Erik
Reading Nocturne for Erik, you'll feel as if you're trapped in a house in the middle of the mountains with both main characters. A snowstorm rages outside the windows, you have nowhere to run, and you're the one standing between the calm and reserved Erik and the loose cannon Kasper, wanting to alternately hug them or shake them. So, everyone get out your knitted jumpers, make some tea, you have to read this.
