Even the devil has a number in the phone book
Ever since fourteen-year-old Richard moved in with his family in the small town of Ballantyne after the death of his parents, trouble has literally been nipping at his heels. When he tricks his friend Tom into calling a random stranger from a phone booth, it sounds like harmless fun. However, the earpiece starts eating Tom alive right before Richard's eyes. Nobody believes the terrified young man, so he decides to investigate on his own. The situation escalates when another of Richard's classmates disappears, leaving him with only one ally - the sympathetic rebel Karen, with whom he has long been secretly in love. Ballantyne has a past and frightening tales of an abandoned Night House. Could he and Tom have been reached there? Or everything is completely different.
