Zdena would love nothing more than to forget her childhood, spent in a family torn apart by old grievances. Even without them, she has more than enough to worry about. But when her mother, who is slowly losing her mind, leaves home and disappears, Zdena is forced to confront the past. What happened on that day in May 1986, when the radioactive cloud from Chernobyl drifted over the country? And who is the mysterious Dede? The search for answers will lead Zdena to a dark garage, a crumbling presbytery, and even to the distant coast of Brittany.
