Neverwhere

Richard Mayhew is a fairly ordinary young Londoner who one day, on his way to an important dinner with his fiancée, helps a ragged, injured girl. At that moment, however, his life is turned upside down. The labyrinth of Podlondýn, a harsh world under the skin of the everyday city, draws Richard in with a flick of a rat's tail and he soon discovers that the way back will not be easy. Especially since he was so fatally involved in Lady Door's affairs. Will the charming Marquis de Carabas, intelligent rats, or perhaps a fallen angel escaped from the ruined Atlantis help him? Does he even want to come back?
