My Year 1983

In 1983, things are happening more beneath the surface than on it. However, this certainly does not mean that nothing is happening "on the surface". Czechoslovakia is shaken by the largest kidnapping of our citizens in history, while on the world stage, the biggest uproar is caused by the shooting down of a South Korean civilian aircraft by the Soviets. In the world of sports, Jarmila Kratochvílová shines, and Karel Gott once again wins the Golden Nightingale award.
