My mother's house

Behind the family's perfect façade was a terrifying truth. Shari, the eldest daughter of the Franke family, reveals the shocking story of the cruel abuse she and her five siblings endured behind closed doors in the YouTube vlog 8 Passengers, which has been watched by two and a half million people. Her mother, Ruby Franke, presented an image of a perfect family on the internet, but in reality - and then even more so under the influence of controversial relationship counsellor Jodi Hildebrandt - she ran an inhumane regime of punishment and manipulation in the family. In 2023, Ruby and Jodi were arrested for child abuse. On that day, Shari Franke posted a photo of a police car outside their home on social media with a single comment: Finally. In this audiobook, she talks openly for the first time about what went on behind the scenes of her family vlog, the dark truth of influencerdom, and how she managed to escape the cycle of pain and oppression from her own mother and finally find freedom. A gripping, true and powerful story of survival, strength and the fight for freedom.
