Murders at the Richelieu Hotel
Hotel Richelieu – a “haven for spinsters”, the “most boring place in the world”, and above all, the residence of the elderly Miss Adelaide Adams. The Great Depression hits a small town in the southern United States, where the greatest entertainment is a walk or a trip to the cinema.
But with the arrival of a new guest, strange things start happening at the hotel. Everyday objects disappear and reappear in the most unexpected places, and people are acting unusually irritable. After a chaotic dinner, the new guest is found brutally murdered in Miss Adelaide's room. Was it intentional, or was she supposed to be the victim? Will the “old battle-axe” Adams stay true to her nickname and manage to uncover the dark secrets the hotel is hiding?
This exceptional combination of classic and hard-boiled detective fiction by Anita Blackmon has recently been rediscovered.
