Mirko Stieber: Indian Summer
In 1981, Miloš Nedbal created a brilliant role in the radio play by Mirko Stiebro called Babí léto (Indian Summer). It is a story based on a generational clash between father and son, a dispute in which both parties must gradually admit to many unspoken and unresolved internal conflicts. In the play, Miloš Nedbal plays the role of an original glossator, a kind of narrator. The narrator is a family dog who is at the end of his days. Nedbal's brilliant voice work, in which the actor puts into his speech, despite its apparent austerity and civility, an extraordinary depth of emotional experience, has ensured his enduring popularity with listeners and audiences alike, as well as radio directors. In addition to Miloš Nedbal, the play features Martin Růžek as the father, David Vejražka as the son Ondra and Jiřina Petrovická as the mother.
