Meister Eckhart and Mediaeval Mysticism

A selection of texts by the great 13th-century German mystic, with an extensive introductory study by Jan Sokol. This is a re-edition of a successful book on medieval mysticism, particularly the work of the prominent German religious thinker, Meister Eckhart. The introductory study by Jan Sokol, along with explanatory notes, makes the presented writings accessible to a wide range of readers. The selected writings include Eckhart's enthusiastic sermons, which directly reveal the very core of his thought in what is at times a literally 'raw' form. The selection also includes translations of several other contemporary texts that complement the overall framework of Meister Eckhart's intellectual legacy.
