What can a random tragedy, which turns one person into a perpetrator and another into a victim, lead to? And what can it tell us about ourselves?

After a birthday celebration, university student Pavel commits a crime, and teenager Tomáš becomes his victim. The ideals of a young professional, Anežka, who is learning how to work with perpetrators and victims of crime, clash with reality. A seriously ill teacher, Kateřina, and a murderer, Marcel, also enter the story.

This psychological mosaic presents challenges that bring out both the best and the worst in its characters. It is set against the backdrop of the true story of Russ Kelly, the first offender to be positively influenced by mediation—a facilitated meeting with the victims of his vandalism.
