Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Originally a mathematics and physics teacher, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn fought on the fronts of World War II. However, he was arrested for criticising Stalin in a letter to a friend and taken to a camp - the so-called "Stalin camp". Gulag. He drew inspiration for his debut book from his time in these camps: One day of Ivan Denisovich. In 1968, he won the Nobel Prize for Literature, but did not collect it for fear of not being allowed back into the country. He was eventually expelled from Russia just as violently and stripped of his citizenship for his most famous book: Gulag Archipelago. Eventually he settled in the USA. He returned to Russia in 1994, where he died 14 years later.

Miloslav Mejzlík

After graduating from JAMU, Miloslav Mejzlík was given an opportunity at the Jiří Wolker Theatre. And this theatre also became his home. Zdeněk Troška, for example, discovered his talent for the television screen and cast him in the film The Princess of the Mill. You may know him from the series Family Ties. In addition to acting, Miloslav Mejzlík is a dubbing actor. His voice can be heard in the feature film The Chronicles of Narnia or the audiobooks Lolita, Robinson Crusoe...
