Maryla

Klára Jerneková, Iva Janžurová, Miloš Kopecký, Oldřich Kaiser and Josef Somr in the lead roles of the dramatization of the popular historical prose of Alois Jirásek: Maryla. Jirásek himself characterized his story as an ancient peasant tale. It takes us to the times when the provincial administrator Jiří z Poděbrady ruled in Bohemia instead of the minor Ladislav Pohrobek. The story also ends with his election as king. However, great history only forms the framework of its own story. It tells the story of a long-standing dispute over a piece of land on the border of two estates. On one side of the dispute stands the governor Zbyňek Buchovec and on the other the young lord Jan Rozvoda. After dramatic events, everything is resolved by the love between Maryla, Mr. Zbyněk' s ward, and the young lord Jan. Persons and cast: Maryla (Klára Jerneková), Ondrej Buchovec (Ota Sklenčka), Zbyněk Buchovec (Josef Somr), Jan Rozvoda Šonovský (Oldřich Kaiser), Tiburcius Čelechovský (Miloš Kopecký), Euphemia (Iva Janžurová), Turk Celba (Jaroslav Moucka), Jakub (Miroslav Masopust), Adléta (Naďa Konvalinková) and others.
