A humorous parody of a detective novel about stupid crooks and an infallible amateur detective who unmasks the criminals.
The foolish scams by which the fraudster Jiří Teston caused damage to large international banks amounting to about five crowns were evaluated by the police as a charade of a genius brain testing the vulnerability of financial institutions. Although Teston was eventually surrounded by the nimbus of a genius con artist, there was nothing genius about his deceptions. But even the famous detectives couldn't catch him. Until a certain Mr. Václav Kavaňas, the keeper of lighthouse number two, who wants to become a famous detective, and a dog, who on the platform shows an eager desire to weigh himself on the station scale, join the action.
