The final part of the six-part novel saga about Charles IV. and his time. The Luxembourg dynasty has a great future on the Czech throne. While Casimir of Poland and Louis of Hungary are still without male descendants, Charles' finally happy marriage to Eliška Pomoranska produces daughters and sons who will inherit the Polish-Hungarian heritage. In the hitherto united Christianity, however, the first shoots of discontent with the evils of the Church are already sprouting. But who will touch heaven to know the truth? The plot of the last part of the royal saga continues until the day of Charles's death, which did not happen at the age of sixty-two, but by an unfortunate accident at the very peak of his successful life.
