Life story of Jan Mikolášek
He was called "the miracle doctor" or also "the folk healer". To the journalists he was a "charlatan" and to the communists a "thief and a fraud". Jan Mikolášek, a half-forgotten herbalist who had fame, money and status in the forties and fifties. He lived through the First Republic, the Nazi occupation and the rigid communism of the 1950s. Thanks to his skills, he has built a huge clientele of patients, even from the highest classes. He treated President Antonín Zápotocký, Hitler's secretary Bormann, the actor Sasha Rashilov and the widow of Karel Čapek. Long queues of waiting patients formed every day at his houses in Hradečno and later in Jenštejn. Mikolášek has helped many people and found out the patient's diagnosis from a vial of urine. His life was all turbulence. He has experienced many denunciations, harassment in the courts, human envy, imprisonment and the loss of all his property. He would probably have remained forgotten if it had not been for Martin Šulc, one of the authors of the book, who discovered him while compiling his own family tree. In the course of his research, he has gathered a lot of interesting material, photographs and documents and hereby presents you his true life story
