Legendary Favorit

This book is primarily dedicated to the Favorit – the first series-production Škoda car with front-wheel drive, developed by the Mladá Boleslav car manufacturer in close cooperation with the Italian coachbuilder Bertone and the Porsche engineering development centre. It was introduced to the public in September 1987 at the International Engineering Fair in Brno.
The publication recounts its somewhat complicated development and its role in the modern emancipation of the Mladá Boleslav car company, which became the fourth brand in the Volkswagen Group in April 1991. It provides a clear overview of the changes that the Škoda Favorit, Forman, and Pick-up models underwent during their active careers from 1987 to 1995, and it recalls the wide variety of their versions, as well as projects that never made it into production.
Motorsport enthusiasts will enjoy the overview of activities involving modified Škoda Favorit cars in rallies, circuit racing, and hill climbs. The text, which includes technical data for individual models and an overview of production and exports, is accompanied by 430 archive photographs, many of which have never been published before.
