Killing cold

A murder at Christmas in Three Pines: a subtle crime for Inspector Gamache

There's murder again in Three Pines. And even at Christmas. This time the victim is the evil, selfish, domineering CC de Poitiers, who has bought a "cursed house" in a picturesque Canadian village. It seems that no one, including her immediate family, regrets her death and that everyone here had a reason to kill her. Moreover, the perpetrator chose a completely original method of murder - so subtle that he managed to confuse not only the local police, but also Chief Inspector Armand Gamach of the Quebec Sûreté. But he has one big advantage over the others - he knows that in order to find the killer, he must first understand him. "Murder is a deeply human thing, and that applies to both the murdered and the murderer."
