Jonathan Swift: Mr. Gulliver's Travels

Journey with ship's doctor and Captain Lemuel Gulliver among the Lilliputians and giants, to the flying island of Laputa, terrorized by singing intellectuals, or to the Land of the Talking Horses of the Hvajninim. This radio dramatisation of the famous allegorical yet hauntingly adventurous novel offers a unique experience. The play, based on the famous novel by English writer Jonathan Swift, is one big allegorical picture of society and a breathtaking adventure. Swift originally wrote his work for an adult readership, so you can find satire and criticism of the English royal court in its subtext. Thanks to the very funny and thrilling stories, the first two parts of Gulliver's Travels in particular have over time become readable for children too. Starring: Alois Švehlík (Gulliver and Jonathan Swift ), Jiří Lábus (actor, Lilliputian, Fig, Laputan), Oldřich Kaiser (actor, Josef Somr (Mr, Sailor, Emperor, Dwarf, King) and Valérie Zawadská (Anna, housekeeper, Empress, giant girl, Mother, Queen).
