Jiří Pavel Klier: Hopeless Marsyas

Becoming a great artist may not be easy even in the advanced future. A remarkable Czech sci-fi drama with music by Miloslav Duchac, special for its focus on the world of art. Three young men graduate from high school in an unspecified future where "the universe is limitless and so are their possibilities". Viktor has ambitions as a composer, Daniel wants to break through as a writer, Tomáš is interested in sculpture. In order not to succumb to the uniformity of mass study at the academy, they want to learn directly from the Master, who is an artistic authority across all disciplines. The most enterprising of the trio, Viky, eventually negotiates individual lessons with the Master for all of them. Each in their own way then comes to terms with the knowledge of their own limits and the possibilities of their artistic talent?
