It's a ride

This is not a collection of essays. It's not a declaration of love. Nor is it a practical guide. It’s all of these things combined. Because a book about cycling in the city deserves a scope and approach as refreshing as the wind at your back. It’s not about kilometres, but new horizons. The team brought together twelve personalities from a wide variety of fields. They work in literature, visual arts, sociology, film, architecture, fashion, and molecular biology. For them, a bicycle means joy, freedom, and passion. They ride it to work, use it to clear their heads, or find that riding through the city bustle and beyond is always a new adventure. From the saddle, they discover unexpected views of the landscape that surrounds us. And they write about it with the same energy they use to tackle cobblestones, long uphill streets, and lines of crawling cars. This is a book of observations and unexpected connections.
