In the Shadow of the Empire

Tarian and Kris may have survived their encounter with death, but the portal has transported them to a place from which it will be difficult to return home.

The Imperium is a realm full of surprising contrasts that only raise more and more questions.

How is it possible that unknown attackers can easily bypass the ubiquitous guards of the capital city and its army of tireless machines?

If students in schools are not learning new things, who is responsible for all the progress in the Imperium?

Where has all the magic from the area around the capital gone?

Why is there absolute peace and quiet in the local forests?

And who the hell keeps trying to kill Tarian and what is their reason for doing so?

These and perhaps other questions will be answered in the second volume of the Chronicles of Magic series, entitled In the Shadow of the Imperium.
