I penetrate into God / So dringe ich in Gott

The book is a Czech-German edition of thirty-six surviving letters sent by the Czech Catholic priest, Jesuit Adolf Kajpr (1902-1959), from Nazi and Communist prisons. It provides a remarkable testimony of the critical stages in the life of this extraordinary personality of Czech Catholicism and of the times in which she lived. Most of the letters illustrate Kajpro's imprisonment in the concentration camps Terezín, Mauthausen and Dachau (1941-1945). A smaller part of the letters came from his imprisonment in communist prisons (1950-1959). He went through several of them, but the leaves are preserved only from Leopoldov in Slovakia. < br> The introductory study by Vojtěch Novotný provides a biography of this Czech Jesuit and an editorial note that explains the circumstances under which the correspondence was written.
