Hussites

From the Battle of Vitkov to Tábor

The Battle of Vitkov, where the Hussites defeated the Crusaders, is just the beginning. The attack by the angry shepherdess is a complete joke compared to what else awaits Bára and the young Hussite warrior, Prague Borek, on their way to Tábor - and indeed in Tábor itself. In her books, historian Veronika Válková transports readers to real, real history, where she and Bára experience exciting moments, but they also learn a lot.

Válková Veronika

PhDr. Veronika Válková studied Latin and History at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Economics and teaches both of these subjects at the six-year Gymnasium Na Pražačka in Prague 3. For SPN she has written a number of history textbooks for primary and secondary schools and methodological guides to these textbooks. He has a regular column in the Family and School magazine. Apart from writing, she enjoys travelling in Europe and beyond (Iceland is her favourite), plays the piano, photographs (especially bugs), embroiders, studying foreign languages, learning to draw in Photoshop, deals with etymology, anthroponomastics, volcanology and everything, what's rustling around.
