Honey, get out!
Turn to a shaman with confidence.
From the author of The Indian Eroticon and How I Gave Birth to a Cherokee Son. Thirty short stories written with wit and respect for the Indian tradition and way of life.
Danka Štoflová's life experience is unique: a Czech painter, went to New York to try her luck, where she met Tammy, a Cherokee Indian, married him and they live together on an Indian reservation in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. No wonder he wants to write about this life experience and thousands of people want to read about it. In thirty short stories, the author gives us a glimpse into the life of her family and the entire Indian reservation. Some of them are funny, like when my father-in-law goes to the dentist for the first time or when Danka packs Olomouc cheesecakes, a rarity sent from the Czech Republic, for a snack in the forest. Others are movingly profound, like the one where she tells how she "saw" a long-vanished Indian village with her own eyes in the woods, or how her husband Tammy saved a baby eagle. But they are all extremely interesting, written with respect for the Indian tradition and way of life.
