Henrik Ibsen: Enemy of the People

Although Ibsen's play was written nearly a hundred years ago, in many ways it is still surprisingly relevant. Henrik Ibsen wrote the political drama An Enemy of the People in 1882 as a world-famous author. In the story of the doctor Stockmann, who tries in vain to point out the faulty water in the local baths, Ibsen bluntly demonstrates all the ills of a "democratic" society - corruption, fear for position and property, and the herd mentality and behaviour of the majority. Persons and cast: MUDr. Tomas Stockmann, spa doctor (Viktor Preiss), Katerina Stockmann, his wife (Dana Syslová), Peter, their daughter (Lucie Trmíková), Peter Stockmann, the doctor's older brother (František Němec), Morten Kiil (Jiří Holý), Hovstad, editor-in-chief of Lidové poslo (Michal Pavlata), Billing, an employee of Lidové messenger (Ivan Trojan), Aslaksen, publisher (Miloš Hlavica), Horster, captain of a merchant ship (Miroslav Etzler), master (Eduard Pavlicek)) and others.
