Growing pears and quince

The book focuses only on pear and quince trees and is published in this country for the first time since 1967. This unique publication introduces the reader to species and varieties not only of classical European pears and quince, but also of Asian ones, the so-called. nashi, which, although they look exotic, can be easily grown in our gardens. The book is intended for gardeners, owners of gardens and orchards and students of secondary horticultural schools, as well as higher vocational and university schools focused on horticulture. It provides information on the correct selection of current and promising varieties, on suitable rootstocks for specific conditions and, of course, on growing forms and subsequent care. A special chapter is devoted to diseases and pests of these fruit trees and preventive measures against them.
