Golden Otter

Everyone knows the legends of Krakonoš, but few people know that Šumava has its own. Gabreta was the beautiful ward of Pošta Švihovský, the lord of the castle of Rabí, but she decided to become a witch because she wanted to help nature and the people in the area. She learned the art of witchcraft from an old witch, from whom she escaped in the form of an otter and settled in the dark forests upstream of the Otava River - in Šumava. But the witch did not like the escape of her apprentice and decided to destroy Gabreta at the Svinibrod Witches' Sabbath and thus repair her reputation....The fairy tale about Gabreta - the Golden Otter was found in the estate of Miloslav Švandrlík and Epocha Publishing House offers it in its premiere to young and old readers with charming illustrations by Mrs. Jarmila Růžičková. For readers aged 6 and up.
