Until recently, Karel Bennon was just an ordinary student. Lectures, plans, a world that made sense. But then war breaks out, and with it, his conscription papers arrive – and in a matter of weeks, civilian life becomes a foreign country.
The Ravens are based in the Jizera Mountains. An elite unit that knows no compromise. The training is tough and unforgiving: silence, hunger, frost, exhaustion. Those who don't learn to survive have no place here. Bennon is a quick learner – but every lesson takes its toll.

The final task is supposed to be 'just' a rescue operation: a secret scientific expedition has disappeared on Gliese Prime. But the alien world has its own rules – and some of them are difficult to comprehend, even for those who have been through hell on Earth. Bennon discovers that in places like this, it’s not technology or rank that decides the outcome... but instinct, will, and the ability to survive even when everything around you starts to fall apart.
