When corporations decide the future
A thrilling post-apocalyptic novel set in the not-too-distant future in the territories of the former Czech Republic. The state and its structures have collapsed, and the last undestroyed cities and communities are trying to survive on their own. The state's integrating civilising role and the provision of infrastructure have been partially taken over by powerful corporations, which, however, have far from noble goals.
Viks is leading a mission to expand the influence of one of these corporations eastwards from central Bohemia to Ostrava by concluding agreements with individual local hegemons and dominant communities. In doing so, he must not only face the local pitfalls and intrigues of a world gone wild, but also agents from rival corporations from Poland and Austria.
